Human Passion in Art of Christian Gabriel Mazzuca
The artworks of virtual guest of THE SECRETS OF PERFECTION, painter Christian Mazzuca (b. 1970), speak many about important and painful problems of Argentinean citizens, they echo of complicated economic situation of the country (Los Suplicantes).
Mazzuca's moralistic visual narration can be equated with philosophy of asceticism of ancient Greeks cynics (Antisthenes and Diogenes Of Sinope) in the basis of whose teaching the ideal of simplicity, contempt of the vast majority of needs, a mockery of every conditionality, prejudice and propagation unconditional truthfulness and personal freedom contain themselves. Christian Mazzuca exploits two types of painting: romantic dramatic with predominance of the masses and flame coloring (Couple) and more academic type with predominance of lines, replenished with lyrical or satiric nuances (The Madonnas, The Directors). The first type goes from the artist's predilection for sculpture and it is opposition for official contemporary South American culture known with television serials. The second type is closer to traditional Latin American art, has some elements of the Renaissance and it is influenced by artists of the 20th century like Dali, Picasso.
Hence we may conclude that grotesques of Christian Mazzuca showing bestial sides of human life executes some educational function and they help for lustration of souls of this corrupted world.
