Figurative Painting of
Escha van den Bogerd
(The Netherlands)
..

Simple strong clear composition and drawing, deeply psychological portraits, slow rhythm, poetics, masterful use of lighting, sensitiveness and warmth are characteristic features of today's guest of THE SECRETS OF PERFECTION young artist Dutchwoman Escha van den Bogerd (b. 1972). There can be no doubt the roots of her manner go from art of Dutch masters of the 17th century. I think positive feature of Escha's painting also is her masterful use a couple of levels of clearness. She showed good understanding of "lessons" of Rembrand who used three levels, for instance, in The Night Watch. It is not so easy, as you can think.

..

Escha's colours are not rich. She manage almost only with blue, reddish, brown, black and white. After viewing Internet resources, I came to conclusion that rich blue and red colours are preferred by many contemporary painters especially in England. What does mean this match? Blue and red have charge of anxiety, dissatisfaction, spite, too great irritation, nervous extenuation, are injurious to heart. Escha's colours have lower intensity, they are soft anxious and have a soothing effect. According to colour psychology blue and brown are stopping of affection, stagnation of psychical needs, isolation; black and blue -- anxious instability through emotional dissatisfaction.

..

I think you will appreciate artwork of professional artist Escha van den Bogerd from the Netherlands who applied the heritage of the past so successfully.
